WATCH: U.S. journalist physically removed from UN conference in Delhi

Faith GoldyArchive

One day after World Health Organization delegates in Delhi unanimously voted to ban journalists from their biennial conference, officials resorted to physically removing media from their meeting.

It's not the first time United Nations legislative body's Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC) has barred international media from their events.

But this time, there was protest:

On Tuesday, The Daily Caller's Drew Johnson defiantly entered the conference hall and sat in one of the chairs that was designated for members of the media who were otherwise quarantined outside.

That's when Johnson was accosted by several members of COP7's security alongside WHO organizers.

Johnson was physically carried outside of the conference and had his media credentials ripped from the lanyard around his neck.

When I questioned one WHO organizer about the incident, he proceeded to call me, "a child" and pushed my microphone away.

The Rebel caught every second of the altercation on tape.

This is one clip you have to see to believe!

Rebel viewers like you sent us on this assignment. Lauren Southern and I won't be deterred from reporting at this or any other UN event. Stay tuned.

is there not a directional mic that can pick up voices from a distance. If so the reporter can stand by the door and pick up what is said at the podium. I’m sure one of the news crew have one. If THE REBEBEL crew can’t buy one in India maybe they could rent one from the CBC good luck.
