Women marched across North America on Saturday to voice their displeasure with the inauguration of Donald Trump. The Vancouver Women’s March was easily largest protest I have ever attended.
And while all the familiar activist groups and unions were out in force, I have to concede that most participants appeared to be there on their on volition.
As the crowd gathered at the Olympic plaza, I asked some of the protesters about their signs. One thing is for sure, those protesters were not always happy about their narrative or “facts” being challenged…
But it was not all anti-Trump:
I did see a number of red hats watching from the edges. One man was even brave enough to wear a “Hillary for Prison” shirt and defend the President.
And I bet not one single person that marched yesterday in Vancouver would ever protest at the Chinese consulate against gender selective abortions, or at the Saudi consulate against women's rights abuses.
Because, as one protester tell me, those questions aren’t “an interesting conversation.”
But I'll keep asking them anyway.
