We’re Raising Spoiled Brats

Gavin McInnesArchive

When I compare my father's hardscrabble Scottish upbringing to that of kids these days, I worry for the future. Then I figured out what our job as parents should really be: We need to get back to Glasgow!

Andy and Drew, don’t forget the Russians. I had a Russian boss once whom explained to me what communism really was like. I would never want to live under that system.

Ah the worst of it Gavin is that the dyslexic spoiled brats are boiled sprats.

Peter Netterville commented 20 hours ago “Na. I’d rather have no kids because I don’t want them to grow up in this borderline communist world.” Well Peter, I too feel that way. What is our country becomming? The new immigrants to Canada have way more children than exsisting Canadians & our future generations will be outnumbered by the Muslim population. That is not a racist comment, that is FACT! BTW, my grandfather came over from Scotland, was forced to work in the Toronto stockyards (yes Toronto did indeed have stockyards once upon a time) to repay his passage. Now immigrants cross over illegally & many newcomers are given money to live for a year. Times are changing & not for the better.

Brilliant Gavin. I helped get the Scottish Libertarians going as a political party. Thought you might find this amusing avaiable for interviews.

Drew/Allan.. To quote in part Hamlet’s famous line “Aye; there’s the rub…” For too many of the today’s puppy-hugging generation the truth will only come to smack them in their chubby faces when it’s too late and they have come to face their own personal “Oh Shit!” moments… There are indeed enough Eastern Europeans and Cuban still alive to cite chapter verse about what it was to live under central command communist governments… And what the Hell is North Korea if not a daily reminder of having your government pulling your every string?…

Allan Peterson that is a great quote , the twits who hate freedom seem to think that selling it out is a fair trade for being irresponsible and lazy. They will only realize how precious it is when it is far too late. They need to talk to people from former soviet controlled countries and Cuban expats who came here to get away from communism.

Most people do not really want freedom, because freedom involves responsibility, and most people are frightened of responsibility. Sigmund Freud

Hi Gavin, I’ve no idea if Brian Lilley’s mom is still alive but she also is/was also from the Gorbals area of Glasgow. It was quite the hell-hole, but filled with the most wonderful human beings. It is the best example that I know of that contradicts any argument that suggests people like Islamic terrorists are the way they are because they lived and grew up in squalid conditions or because they were deprived of stuff.

As has been noted before, on D-Day June 6th, 1944, 18-year-olds were storming the beaches of Normandy… These days 18-year-olds have to be provided “safe spaces” and therapy dogs when they hear the words “President Trump”….
