Despite what many people believe, Black Lives Matter is not exclusive to America. The movement has started to establish itself in Canada as well, making its debut in Toronto and then spreading to Vancouver.
The original sect in Toronto have made some bold moves since their inception, including protesting the police presence at the Toronto Pride parade.
Aside from the Pride parade, the second largest amount of coverage they've received has been around one of their co-founders, Yusra Khogali.
Khogali made a name for herself after sending out a tweet begging Allah to help her not kill/cuss the white people and men surrounding her.
Little did the mainstream media know they had only scraped the surface:
The co-founders of Black Lives Matter Toronto make quite the dynamic duo.
Their stories certainly bring into question whether they have a dedication to fighting oppression or a dedication to their own self interest.
