What can we expect from Trudeau’s budget tomorrow? Tax and spend

Brian LilleyArchive

Tomorrow is budget day in Ottawa. I can sum up what I think is going to be in the Liberal budget in two words: Tax and Spend.

Some liberals and progressives may think that’s an unfair characterization of Liberal policies, but Justin Trudeau and company actually embrace that ethos.

Remember, Justin was elected on a promise of running three small deficits over three years, a promise which they’ve already indicated they’ll break by increasing the deficits.

That’s bad enough but I’m concerned that Trudeau’s ideological worldview will cause the Liberals to enact policies that generally kill the very things that reward risk and make starting small companies possible.

And I worry that Trudeau is going to use the tax system to punish success.

We expect plenty of spending in the budget especially on things Trudeau calls “infrastructure” which I’ve long maintained will actually be social spending that he wants to do on social programs that require constant funding, year after year.

Why do I think that? Because I’ve seen a pattern.

I’ll be in the budget lock-up all day tomorrow and will give you a full report of what I hear.

I hate that picture of the two of them. Get a room already.

So far we have witnessed the unchanged, unimaginative, productivity strangling Liberal economic of the past 3 Liberal regimes – spend all the revenues then max-out the credit card on patronage candy handouts to buy votes. Every Liberal crony will get to dip their beak in the public trough, and your children and grand children will be tax slaves to pay the bill.

When I heard Junior squealing his delight into a CBC microphone that interest rates for borrowing are low “and we need to take advantage of that”, I knew that klepto-economics was in play again.

Here’s a shout out to all you selfies who think this borrowed loot will be showered on you with free tuition or personal subsidies – dream on sukkas, This will fund the Librano corporate client payola to restock the Liberal party brokerage war chest which was depleted since Adscam and their time on the opposition benches.

He’s running up the deficit at a time when the economy is stable. At this rate it will be $100 billion in 3 or 4 years. What happens if the economy tanks like in 2008 or inflation goes through the roof and interest rates rise. These guys don’t have a clue how to deal with our economy and Canadians will be paying interest on this debt for generations.
commented 2016-03-21 21:20:56 -0400
Well daddy left us with close to a 300-billion dollar tab, that we are still paying interest on.
commented 2016-03-21 21:02:03 -0400
Too bad we didn’t start a pool on what the deficit for the year will be. I am predicting it will be around $25 billion. Keep up the great work on reporting.

Trudeau will bankrupt Canada, then in his last year in office, he will receive massive cash investments and the Budget will be balanced. At this time Saudi Arabia will own Canada.

If we do not stop Trudeau, He will stop us. As in permanently.

Trudope would not be in that chair had Canadians been not so stupid! Watch taxes skyrocket for entrepreneurs and small business owners who will be especially at risk having sacrificed income to produce a longer lasting legacy! The so called “middle class” will be next in the firing line. Betcha Trudope and the cadre of wealthy lieberals exempt themselves from being “rich” to avoid the pain they will inflict on others!

The makers (you), and the takers ( Liberals ). What could possibly go wrong.
commented 2016-03-21 18:04:57 -0400
Every body that voted for ( you emptyness) thinks everything is going ok.
With the help of the msm this could go on for some time, until like Dirty Harry said,—-when there is very few trees left .
commented 2016-03-21 17:25:17 -0400
Our boy Justin likes to make promises and of course to Liberals money grows on trees. Taxpayer’s trees. Time for the harvest. Carbon taxes will be a part of it too.

Missed one word, Brian: borrow. Or in Trudeau’s case, mega-borrow. Poor Canada, when the crunch comes.

Dear Diary;
Today is World Puppetry Day. I think it was invented by one of my Iranian chums. Although we must never forget to be thankful for the wonderful contributions these people have made to civilization, I still don’t understand what Gerald sees in puppetry. For some reason he can hardly contain himself. Personally I don’t know why he gets so excited about that, but, as I always say, to each his own.
I haven’t seen him this giddy since last week when I tried out the technique that Uncle Jean taught me about speaking out both sides of my mouth. With my budget coming up it was a good opportunity to give it a dry run. I promised Wall Street there would be “no influx of cash to jolt the [Canadian] economy”, after promising my zombies massive deficit spending to “kick-start the economy”.
Then I told Wall Street that I “needed to be responsible and keep the budget gap because one of the things that’s really important to me is fiscal responsibility”. Everybody laughed, which really just shows how much everyone loves me.

Don’t get me wrong I do not support this kid but every economist I hear interviewed seems to think this $30 billion deficit is no big deal for Canada. Not sure how they will feel about $35 billion for the next 3 years. Trudeau made so many promises on the campaign trail he’s not going to be able to fulfill them all (Truth and Reconciliation will cost multi billions to fulfill, not to mention clean water to all first nation’s reserves.) unless he wants $60+ billion in the first year. Some groups will not be happy because the money will not flow as was promised. Nick Nanos (Ipsos Reid) has Trudeau riding high with no end in sight.

Money for nothing wowowowow. Money for nothing wowowowow.

That is a good song isn’t it. We are all sooooo screwed. There is nothing, absolutely nothing we can do to fix this… People talk about the situation but they don’t stand for anything. We on the right are finished.

With 3+ more years of Jr. and Notley I can see a “Yes” vote on an Alberta referendum to separate at the end of it all.

Get ready for crippling debt to pave the way for the Muslim brotherhood’s hostile take over of Canada. Terrorism by economy from the latest political jihadist Justin Trudeau.

He still has not touched on the pot issue…….bet they are furious over that…….it will never happen.
commented 2016-03-21 16:44:28 -0400
JT was elected by younger people because he promised to legalize pot. And give more to people who can work but feel entitled to money for nothing.
commented 2016-03-21 16:44:27 -0400
So much for the middle class tax decrease. Turns out that was smoke and mirrors and it successfully fooled the east. Extreme poverty will be starting very shortly. I guess “middle class tax decrease” is liberalese for new carbon tax and even worse, larger interest payments to the big banks as a cost of gambling on ridiculous new programs that will fail, except in their true purpose of serving as graft fronts for quebecers.

What a disaster. We are in for it. Everyone is going to be begging for Harper to come back

I predict the deficit will be between $75 – $100 billion by the time the lieberals are done.

Does it look like JT and Morneau are ready to …. ? Naw …. I don’t need that mental picture.

What’s with this kid? Every time he gets his picture taken with a man, it looks like they are about to suck face! Or maybe he has to get so close, so that they can whisper the lies between them, and laugh about their traitorous plans for Canada.
