Why Russia is “no friend” to America, or the world

Sebastian GorkaRebel Contributor

With an aging population, limited industry, and a GDP dwarfed by that of the US, Russia is not a strategic threat.

It is, however, a spoiler, and a destabilizing force in the world.

Whether it's through interference in the Middle East or classic Soviet-style disinformation campaigns — something Vladimir Putin is most skilled at, as a former KGB officer — Russia is, indeed, no friend.

Here are two essential resources to help explain the current situation:

While focused on activity in Ukraine and its impact on Latvia, this study published by the National Defence Academy of Latvia is nevertheless required reading on the new generation of Russian warfare and information operations.

Likewise, Lt. Col. Timothy Thomas (retired) is also a go-to source for anyone interested in learning how Russia attempts to control its adversaries and compel them to do its bidding.

Thank you “barat” Gorka… And since this analysis was written the Russian disinformation campaign has continued unrelentingly in Latvia… The Russians have a population concentration in cities such as Daugavpils in Latgale and keep trying to foment the “we want to join Mother Russia” push… Whether in Riga, or Daugavpils, we have thousands of Russians, shipped to Latvia in the 1940s, who have never ever bothered to learn one word of Latvian… Such is the Russian arrogance about “conquered nations”…

I know I said the Ukraine and always been a part of Russia but I meant to say the Crimea and always been a part of Russia and very recently gifted to Ukraine. The Crimea is historically part of Russia they voted to succeed and leave it is done… The Ukraine had no business interfering and Obama had no business destabilizing the rest of the country..

Flat Earth that was only separatist heavy Crimea that chose to secede and the Russians had control when the vote happened. I have extended family there, you would not want to announce you are pro Russia in the rest of the country , TRUST ME!

I still say Mueller and his Demi-crap cronies needed a “back door” to this Russian/Trump Collusion investigation debacle and when they couldn’t nail Trump or any other Republican they invented this story to cover their collective asses.

Now I’d like to see how the FBI do with Hidabeast and the phoney “Dossier”. I’ll bet it never gets out of the gate.

I think Russia/USA would make much better allies than USA/China or Russia/China..

The brainwashing to demonize Russia continues.

Andy… Let’s not forget a lot of things about Europe in general… everybody has been cranking swords it everybody over there in an effort to conquer their land… Russia today is not the USSR of yesterday or Russia of yesteryear… They’re not a fan of Muslims and they are doing their bit to re-stabilize the Middle East.

Don’t really understand the Rebel on thus one. Putin has installed pride in his people and his own country so he is not globalist filth working for Soros like most “leaders” in the West. Google one of his speeches once and compare it to the platitude spewing, apologizing snivelling coming from people like Trudeau and Merkel ….you will be shocked at the difference. He sounds like a rational grown up compared to a bunch of treasonous PC cowards like most of the “leaders” of the West except for a very few exceptions (Czechs , Hungarians , Polish etc) ….who would have thought 20 years ago that the main hope to save the West and Western civilization would rest with the Slavs of Central and Eastern Europe.

Putin is no saint neither is Trump but they will both do what they need to do in the best interest of their country.. they both realize that they are the toughest guys on the block and no good would ever become of them becoming enemies.

If I were a Yank, I would consider Putin to be more of a friend than Senor Sissy Socks Justin the Rat Trudeau.
Putin is more on the side of the angels than Justin.

I am not just a bit “dismayed” by reading the pro Putin/Russia spin being put on some of the last posts!… Let’s get this straight!… Russia since the 1400’s has been a conqueror in what is now known as Eastern Europe and Eurasia for centuries… Russia’s economic wealth is based on raping and conquering smaller neighbouring countries right into World War II and right into the fall of the Soviet Union… James Hall… New to The Rebel perhaps?… Putin has indeed NOT instilled pride in the Russian people but even more alcoholism and a propensity to produce pornography…

Putin jails his political opponents , he is not a saint.

Putin is after the same thing as the Globalists , he is no different , just more self interested.
commented 2018-02-21 02:34:31 -0500
Flat Earth the Ukraine does not belong to Russia , nor did they vote to rejoin. That was a part of the country that voted and they are now back in Russia. Putin has no right to the country.

Stephanus Spartan sorry but the US is not responsible for the EU. And they are limiting action in Syria and the Kurds need to be helped or they will be wiped out.

Good point Liza , but what was Germany’s plan for Eastern Europe 70 years or so ago ? It was horrific to say the least. They and the EU are attempting a very similar thing now by trying to force population replacement and destruction of their societies on them with Islamic invaders / migrants. I think Eastern Eropeans are very aware of this and are fighting back. Yes Eastern Europeans do remember history.
commented 2018-02-21 00:17:56 -0500
Anyone with any history with eastern Europe is going to have ‘no love lost’ for Russia, and rightly so.
commented 2018-02-21 00:12:46 -0500
The EU is the New Soviet Union with the added cancer of Islam added to it.
I agree with many here that think Russia could be a Democracy some day if the West would stop demonizing them.
Occasionally Russia has to show aggressiveness or a few other nations will try to walk over them.

That was Obama’s legacy, that and the hold over old guard republican war mongers, the same ones who convinced Trump to attack Assad the minute he got into office. Yes it was a show of power, but…

The Rebel is losing the script, Team America ( with 3 million troops in 800 foreign bases including Russia’s doorstep)has invaded or bombed at least 8 countries in 10 years, helped create and sustain ISIS after invading and destroying Iraq and Afghanistan based on the WMD lies, destroyed Libya, and now is illegally in Syria using the Kurds and ISIS as proxies to take down the only secular Arab leader left that defends Christians. The millions of Muslim migrants destroying the west are the result of US policy not Russian( the last majority Christian nation left in Europe/Asia) .Don’t become another Israel first propaganda disinfo site, please.

I like Putin… He stood up to the central banks and kicked them out of Russia..
Let’s not forget that the Ukraine has always been a part of Russia and only recently was divided away from Russia and voted to come home… They voted to succeed and Obama didn’t like that because they have a warm water port so he sent forces him to destabilize the country and blame it on Russia..
Nobody is innocent in the game of international politics and I forget how many countries (40?) are signed on to an agreement that will not let you travel unchaperoned into the ant-arctic.. all of these countries communist or psudo democracies like our own claim to be enemies but are all allied in building the wall that prevents us from independently exploring the ant-arctic continent.. That just doesn’t make any sense at all. Russia is the largest white Christian stronghold left in the world and they like anybody else ar just trying to do what’s best for their country.

Seems to me that backing the Rebels was using Islam as enforcers. It gives me no pleasure to say it.
commented 2018-02-20 23:23:27 -0500
Keith, could you explain to me how Putin uses Islam as enforcers? Russia is its own kind of trouble to be sure, But Isis enforcers, you got that part wrong.
commented 2018-02-20 22:55:11 -0500
Putin, ex KGB. Merkel, ex KGB. Hmmm, smells like Marxism, using the tool called Islam as enforcers. How many more false flags are there, flying in the EU.
