Why crashing “Julius Caesar” was the right thing to do: Laura Loomer, Jovi Val and Sal Cippola

Gavin McInnesArchive

On Friday, The Rebel’s own Laura Loomer stormed the stage during the Public Theater’s "Shakespeare in the Park" production of Julius Caesar in New York City.

She yelled, “Stop the normalization of political violence against the right!” and “this is unacceptable.”

Laura also warned there would be further outbursts during the play’s next performance on Sunday.

The prophet (peace be upon her) was right, and Sunday’s performance was disrupted by Proud Boys Jovi Val and Sal Cippola. Jovi yelled, “Liberal hate kills,” and Sal added, “We’re sick of your bullshit” as well as “CNN is ISIS.”

There has been a lot of backlash from the right, claiming we are hypocrites for jeopardizing the theatre’s right to free speech.

Laura, Jovi, Sal, and I disagree.

We see this action as giving the left a taste of their own medicine. They’ve been dehumanizing us as "Nazis" for so long, now lunatics feel justified in trying to kill us, as we saw most recently with the attempted assassination of a Republican congressman.

Now we’re mad as hell and we’re simply not going to take it anymore.

The Rebel needs to decide whether they support free speech or not. Perhaps they should all sit down and have another look at Ezra’s great (and viral) “It’s my bloody right to do so” video.

Jimmy Reece please show me who said the last guy was Obama and where the flags were in that production. I will wait for your BS response. LMAO!

Jimmy Reece they are doing what many left wingers have done, why no mention of them doing it from you you filthy hypocrite. And no one is stopping the play form happening. They still have their free speech. Sad how you keep saying things that are not true like a child.

Jimmy Reece: As I have already mentioned. I was never aware of an Obama Julius Caesar play. So no hypocrisy. In fact until the Trump/Caesar was the first I heard of this issue. The play goes on and no one is saying you can’t do this. That would be a free speech issue. What they are trying to say is you shouldn’t. The play went on afterwards and still continues. As I also mentioned liberals protest many issues in the same capacity and other than getting a headline no one gives a crap because it’s what they do. A conservative does something like this once and suddenly people it’s a huge deal. Personally I don’t like the idea of using any leader as a prop. People are free to do what they like but it doesn’t make it right.

Of course it was the right thing to do. How much more insane do the libtards have to get before they should all be imprisoned with all this violence and promotion of violence going on? Antifa, BLM, MSM, actors unions and other socialist organizations are all corrupt and ran by Liberals and/or whoever else is financially supporting them. These organizations will be the ones dying a violent death and not the other way around (promoting death to President Trump).

Congrats to all of you for wanting to stop the non-stop hate rhetorics.

Edward Jobin,

Of course it’s free speech. It’s free expression through art. You can’t rush the stage for Trump, but couldn’t care less about the SAME PLAY with Obama. It’s the definition of hypocritical.
commented 2017-06-20 13:24:16 -0400
Jimmy Reece: As I have stated it’s not really about free speech but about making a statement that in a climate of people making death threats and people acting on those sentiments with violent demonstrations in the streets and college campuses that sometimes it is understandable that some may feel they need to prick the conscience of the audience. I assure you if it had been a democratic protestor not much would be being said in the news after the initial report. Lefties do these types of protests so often we come to expect them.

Edward Jobin,

There is a reason why the right is blasting The Rebel for this stunt. They fucked up and shouldn’t have done it. The RIGHT is saying that. Free speech is free speech. It’s a play that has gone on for a very long with various Presidents.

Jimmy Reece: Firstly I never heard of an Obama-look-alike Julius Caesar production and more importantly it is not about free speech or freedom of expression. Certainly everyone has the right to be a moron what some are questioning is do you really think this is wise in this environment of hyper political tensions? It is important to make the distinction of what we can do and what we should do so as not to misrepresent the controversy.

They weren’t shut down. Just a little inconvenienced. Ann Coulter was shut down, Milo was shut down, even mild Condi Rice has been shut down. The play continues.
commented 2017-06-20 06:51:30 -0400
Wrong. Conservatism should be about promoting free speech, not shutting it down. No matter how stupid or offensive it is. If you do what your enemy does, you become them.

No problem Andrew. When I was about 8 I saw (not just on our farm, but on many others) my grandma (still rocking life at 89) chop the head off a chicken and watched it run around the yard. I saw her take a 12" knife and slice the throat of geese she had raised for years and bleed them into a pot (she said they felt nothing, it was like going to sleep). I walked into her kitchen and smelled the most amazing smell that only she could cook, only to have her say, “don’t eat that! It’s for the dogs!” She was cooking up the entrails for them (and damn if the dogs didn’t love it). I watched my grandparents butcher a deer my folks hit at 4am to not waste the meat. That’s the mentality of surviving WWII behind enemy (German) lines. So…be very careful. I won’t panic and starve. We have land. We have everything to survive. Once all you dill holes burn everything down to the ground.

DO YOU?

“he doesn’t look or sound much like Obama”

“Sturdivant does a pitch-perfect black conservative intellectual ". In other words a turn coat traitor to be ridiculed and ignored as an uncle Tom. Like stard Tarantino that rabbiting nigger in everything isn’t funny.

Andrew Eden-Balfour; I doubt the audience was shouting " kill him, kill him ". Idiot.

You lot are complete idiots and hypocrites. This play has been going on for a long while and has satirized previous Presidents, including Obama by portraying them as Caesar. And yet you right-wingers applauded the production team behind the play when they did so. While the left never even protested the play.

Left wing SJW’s prevent speech and attack speakers and disrupt events of all kinds with added violence and then they spew righteous indignation at someone merely interrupting a play. SAD!
commented 2017-06-20 01:27:34 -0400
Bill Elder well said, idiots on the left do not like when others rub their hypocrisy in their face and they get all upset when someone plays by their rules.
commented 2017-06-20 01:25:46 -0400
Jimmy Reece says “Free speech can’t only apply to the things you want it to. Either it’s free speech across the board or not.” What a joke from someone who supports the left.
And the Rebel did not do this, Laura did it moron. And all she did was protest the play, she never shut it down, it was in a public place and they take public money so the public can yell or scream as they wish.
commented 2017-06-20 01:21:23 -0400
Jimmy Reece then those guys with the Obama effigy have a right to free speech as well. Except the left had a friggin cow and they were quickly arrested. And the rodeo clown who wore the Obama mask was all over the news and banned from being a clown ever again and of course no lefties said a damn thing when he wore a Bush mask. And why does a conservative get arrested when the left does this kind of thing and blocks free speech all the damn time and they never do? Now go crap on lefties who do this stuff all the time or you are a filthy hypocrite.

Jim the mouth piece Reese…….go play on the freeway would you……please!
commented 2017-06-20 00:15:30 -0400
Bill Elder,

You do realize that this play has been going on for a very long time with many Presidents being used, including Obama? No one was complaining then. The Rebel were completely hypocritical here with this stunt – there is no two ways about it, which is why the right is attacking The Rebel over this.
commented 2017-06-19 23:56:59 -0400
Great effort rubbing the smug left’s hypocrisy in their face – here they assemble for the sole fantasy of seeing a political assassination in effigy which they wish was real – how caring, how progressive, how hypocritical for a cult of phonies who claim moral high ground but constantly wallow in the mud.

Good show Laura, well placed, well deserved call down – leftist hypocrisy is the poison in their veins which will ultimately consume them and morph them into the uncivil amoral scum they pretend not to be. We see it every time they don’t get their own way, they go feral.

You are getting criticized from the right over this, because you ARE hypocrites in more ways than one:

1. You weren’t rushing the stage for the Obama version of the same play.

2. It is free speech and free expression.

Free speech can’t only apply to the things you want it to. Either it’s free speech across the board or not.

I am glad that The Rebel are getting called out for this stunt on both sides.
