Why “Martyr Street” in Hebron has been deserted for over 20 years

In 1994, an American-Israeli opened fire in the Cave of the Patriarchs, killing 29 Muslim worshippers and leaving 125 wounded.

The “Hebron Massacre” sparked deadly riots by Palestinians on what is now known as “The Street of the Martyrs.”

Once the site of bustling stores, it is now completely deserted, used only by terrorists as hideouts after committing attacks.

In many ways, it reminds me of a very similar situation in Molenbeek, Belgium…
