Why “The Case For Christ” deserved an Oscar nod

Ben DaviesRebel Host | Rebel Reel Reviews

No, I don't think the Oscars should really have a category for "Best Religious Film" (as if the leftist Academy would ever create such a thing.)

However, that same bias keeps worthwhile films like The Case For Christ from getting the recognition they deserve.

Some people might get turned off by the whole idea of a "Christian" film (even some Christians!), thinking that they're corny and heavy-handed. But The Case For Christ is more like an entertaining Law & Order episode, telling the true story of journalist and atheist Lee Strobel, who set out to disprove the resurrection of Jesus, and, well... spoiler alert!

Andrew how many times do we have to see films about how awesome gays are and how they are so victimized?

Well, Ben Davies, guess who’s making a sequel to “The Passion of The Christ”?
You got it. Mel Gibson is making the movie of all movies on “The Resurrection” of Christ and Jim Caviezel is [acting] in the starring role.
It will be released in approx. one year.

Good review Ben.

Crocker/Stephenson;
I pity you poor wretches. You ridicule and despise what you don’t understand…which you may not have the capacity to understand…and condemn yourselves. You spread deceit, hatred and confusion for evil purposes. You bring darkness into the world…
Here are some words you should take to heart and remember:
“Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.”
When you meet your maker, good luck ‘splainin’ yourselves…

Odd that the self proclaimed “tolerant all inclusive non-bigoted” socialist trolls we have posting here are quick to hurl insults at Christians because of their beliefs.

Not so tolerant as they claim to be.

A person at my work blurted, out of blue, the other day in no uncertain terms with the voice of absolute authority and a definite “I know it all” demeanor that “God does not exist”.

I involuntarily burst into a fit laughter that was clearly a mocking laugh, but I could not stop. You should have seen the look on his face. Priceless.

The trolls here blurt out the same disdain for Christians and the predominate and persistent thought I have is that these people are complete idiots.

If there were a category for religious movies you can bet the Hollywood elite would make sure it would never be given to a Christian movie. It sounds like a good movie. I’ll have to check it out.

The “useful idiot” as much as answered that he would only allow films based on his religion of humanism.

I’d love to see Ben Davies do a review of that old movie, Fargo, which I now believe is available on DVD. I loved the movie, and it’s the only movie I’ve ever seen that paints an accurate, though somewhat eccentric, portrait of severely normal people from rural America…. and Canada. They’re basically good, decent people. Frances McDormand was well deserving of the Oscar for her roll in the movie. How about it, Ben? What did you think?

Of course a “useful idiot” troll would express disdain for Christian films and would only allow films based on his religion of humanism, where man is the measure of all things. "

How many times can you retell biblical stories, before you fall prey to “damnit, not another Transformer Movie” syndrome? I mean, you already know Jesus is coming back at the end of the movie, so why waste your time?

Great commentary Ben; all six minutes and 49 secs.

The authoritarian leftist troll didn’t bother to view before posting….his nose is out of joint that you turned up to work today!

Keith Barnes, lol! Who sings the song?

As guilty as I am myself, I think the best answer is:

DON’T FEED THE TROLLS.

Anyone who concludes that “Corny and heavy handed doesn’t even begin to describe how lame Christian films are”, has obviously never watched Mel Gibson’s “The Passion of the Christ”. If, on the other hand. said individual has viewed “The Passion of the Christ” and has still draw the same benighted conclusion, then said individual is beyond redemption.

LOL.

Corny and heavy handed doesn’t even begin to describe how lame Christian films are. This film has no business being considered for an Oscar.
