Why the normalization of lying is wrecking society

Gavin McInnesArchive

Lying has permeated everything from fashion, entertainment and retail, not just politics and journalism.

(LANGUAGE WARNING)

And the worst thing about lying is:

It wastes our precious time.

My grandson wanted a tractor ride the other day. I told him it was broken. I feel bad now.

B.C. government cancels site C and Kinder Morgan, Ontario shutters yet another factory (making solar panels of all things), B.C.‘s $36,000,000,000 LNG project is cancelled, every province other than Saskatchewan is going heavily in the red, Zoolander has no plan to end deficits in the 21st century, Zoolander is introducing carbon taxes to fight ’climate change’ (wink wink, nudge , nudge), NAFTA is being renegotiated (if not torn up)……….and the BoC raises interest rates because they project strong growth in the Canadian economy. Honest.

That’s one reason that Jordan Peterson is so popular. In a world of liars, he comes across as one of the few honest men.

So true. Liars have a fantastic memory which is all the nice there is to say about it. People will lie to your face and hope/expect that you will overlook it. It’s time to start calling them out, I’m so sick of it.

You think women are prettier than they are???? Well you lying little … blank Gavin!

Actually, you’re right Gavin. I can’t believe when you’re talking to some company rep and they say no one has ever complained about whatever before! Like you’re lying!

I hate liars…..oh by the way, I’m 35, blonde and wear size 4, and rich!
(All joking aside. I was married to a ‘professional’ liar for 10 years. Have no idea what was real or not real. Not good!)

The hardest part for these lyres is remembering their last lie. The truth never changes, well maybe embellished a little.
I have said to others often, when did this lying become acceptable and worse yet normalized?

God hates a liar and those who normalize lies and deception will be judged for it in the end. And speaking of the end, I don’t think we are that far from it! This is a fallen world, and it is becoming more apparent by the day.

“the camel’s nose is already under the tent on this”

Now there is a saying I have never heard. Had to look that one up.

Morals are considered “square” in this day and age, yet without morals, there can be no such concepts as lying, cheating, stealing or even murder – those are all just a matter of one’s world view. I hate to be negative, but I think the camel’s nose is already under the tent on this. Adios, civilization.
