Why we had to say goodbye to Faith Goldy

Ezra LevantRebel Commander

I like Faith Goldy — how can you not? Brilliant, beautiful, tough, hard-working, great journalist.

She’s done amazing work, from her investigation into illegal immigrants at the U.S. border, to bringing humanitarian aid to Iraq for Christian refugees, to being the most pro-Israel star in our company.

I was upset that she went to the Charlottesville protests, despite my direction to her not to go in any capacity.

But we all screw up — you don’t throw someone overboard for making a mistake. Each of us are second chancers, our whole company is a second chance.

But then I saw the news that she went on a podcast from the Daily Stormer, and it was just too far. So we said goodbye.

Tough week. But we’re going to get back to work now.

This was a mistake. You need to stop losing your best players. Al Davis of the Oakland Raiders look like a genius. Dont dump your people who are controversial, capitalize on them.

LOL.

…But the Right wing extremists WERE Left wing Actors, dressed as White Extremists and KKK and were paid $25/hr to create violence apparently from the Unite the Right licensed demonstration. The whole Charlottesville was staged….

LOL.

Conservatives are gullible conspiracy theory fear mongering loving morons.

“I am canceling my paid subscription!”

Because of this?

“I was upset that she went to the Charlottesville protests, despite my direction to her not to go in any capacity.”

Yet just two days ago, it was a different story!

“Our Faith Goldy was reporting from the leftists counter-protest to the alt-right rally in Charlottesville when a car plowed into the crowd.”

As The Rebel grappled with the departures, Norwegian Cruise Lines bent to the pressure of U.K.-based advocacy group Hope Not Hate and cancelled The Rebel’s booking for a Caribbean voyage featuring talks by Rebel personalities, saying the views The Rebel has espoused are “inconsistent” with the cruise line’s own “core values.” Meanwhile, the anonymous online activist group Sleeping Giants reported its long-running efforts to organize an advertising boycott of The Rebel has now resulted in a total of 237 advertisers, including major automotive firms, airlines, retailers and governments, dropping The Rebel from their campaigns.

In an explosive video posted to YouTube on Thursday, featuring secretly recorded audio of Levant, Robertson claimed The Rebel has dishonestly solicited donations in excess of the costs of creating its content, concealed its use of the money, and oriented its news agenda around stories that can be turned into activist campaigns, generating a vast database of email addresses of sympathetic viewers and readers who can be mobilized for fundraising.

And how many people voted for Hitler?

Rob Greeley,

You seem batshit crazy. Does that work for you?

The reality is that if you love The Rebel’s content – the same content that are making people bail for this place and Ezra including the co-founder and other contributors – not to mention conservatives politicians, then you are going to have to accept the fact that you are also going to be seen as “one of them” or a supporter per the alt-right.

That is what supporting The Rebel means now.

So far no labels…C’mon…let’s hear/see them….What am I?

Ezra was right to fire faith. If anything, he should have put the foot down on her way earlier.
commented 2017-08-21 18:01:06 -0400
For the first time in days I have been able to access the website, so I couldn’t comment on this. YOU FIRED FAITH GOLDY? FOR WHAT, TELLING THE TRUTH! I loved the Rebel, you had a winning message that the vast majority of conservatives agreed with. Something recently went wrong! It started when Lauren left than got progressively worse from there. Good reporters leaving; then the scandal in London Then you fire Faith Goldy; throwing her under the bus! That’s the last straw, I am canceling my paid subscription! I love what the Rebel stood for, but now I don’t know what you stand for! I believe for the good of the Rebel, Ezra should do the honorable thing and resign and let the Rebel reorganize! I don’t think you can now recover with Ezra in leadership. Sorry Ezra but I think for the good of the Rebel, YOU need to go! tears!

I am Rob Greeley…The Rebel has given Canadian Everyday People like me a VOICE to be heard..60 million plus Voters in the USA voted for their Commander In Chief…Mr. President Trump who is battling for American Everyday People..He is not a Politician..But he is adjusting the best he can.. While I’m at it..I am not alt Politician…I am not alt Law abiding Citizen…

Go ahead and label me you liberalist bipolar mental illness wingnuts…What label do you want to stick on back?

Rebels..The liberalist grandiosity in bipolar mental wingnuts are the ones in a panic..Ever since November 8/16…Look at all the incidents since then!..They are the ones who label People because of the hate that is within them..They want to try to erase History because it was their history/facts that are against Humanity…

Liza Rosie,

I don’t work for any media source, but nice dodge that you again don’t know what you are talking about…that I have to point out to you what Ezra has said, because you live a life of cluelessness as an alt-righter.

Great comeback troll. You are just another vulture hoping to pick up some business. Who do you work for again?

Liza Rosie,

Are you fucking retarded – Ezra already confirmed it. What more do you need?

There is nothing more to say about your comment. You were wrong. You are always wrong.
commented 2017-08-21 15:05:57 -0400
That may or may not be, I hadn’t heard it. He is still providing content, so it must be amicable. Nothing to say about the rest of my comment? No? Go sit, bad dog. Stupid stupid creature. You always show up, ‘here stupid dog’ and you bound right over. Who do you represent?

Liza Rosie,

Gavin is gone at the end of August.

Ezra already confirmed this.

Why do you live in such delusion and denial.

If you listened to the entire uncut interview you might understand the context. The audio isn’t very good and it takes some effort, but it is all there and it isn’t very flippen devastating, as Sarah (sit) here would have us believe. I really think ‘Sarah’ should disclose who she represents. She sure acts like she has a vested interest in taking the Rebel down. She/he (jimmy troll) is clearly very dedicated. But It is easier to bail like you have done Timothy Evans. Some people are just too lazy to do their own homework. It is easier to have people like Sarah troll here make up your mind for you.

Had you done some homework you might understand some context. Lilly, Kay, Robson, have employers in Bell media who clearly put pressure on them. I think Kay was never a good fit, she found the Rebel a bit rough, not to her taste, fair enough, and she used this as an excuse. They were given an ultimatum, it is just too obvious, no matter how many times Lilley OR trolls like Sarah dispute it.
It sure looks like McInnes is still providing content to me, he is still here. Don’t believe everything you read on the internet. The vultures and opportunists are circling. Do your own homework for godsakes.
If you are too lazy to do that Timothy or anyone else, don’t let the door hit you on the way out.

Here is that podcast if your attention span can handle it, but to understand the context it must be listened to in full. The video at the top of the article is someone’s pap and spin as is anything Canadatoiletland has to say on the matter. Some people do leave for other reasons. There is no reason to paint all ‘passing ships’ as contentious issues. People do come and go. Even if there had been personality issues ,so what, who cares? Do you need a safe space or what.?

Oh it is most certainly Ezra that is the consistent problem here.

If the same thing happens over and over again to Ezra – as it has been for years, sooner or later – he has to realize that it’s not them, it’s him.

The thing is – I don’t think he cares. He will forever have the it’s my way or the highway mentality and will continue to alienate those around him.

I’m called BS on this one, Levant and until I decide otherwise, I will not contribute one more dollar to any of your causes and will not be re-subscribing. There are just too many uncertainties here. You lost Lilley, McInnis, Robertson, Robson, and Kay all at the same time? And before that Southern and Gabbay? Maybe it’s you, buddy.

“Faith Goldy was not at that protest to support Neo Nazis or white supremacists. She was there in support of free speech, freedom of religion, inclusion and tolerance. In other words she was there to support the corner stones of democracy. We know that and so do you Ezra Levant.”

The story does not add up.

“In this country, you’re supposed to be innocent until proven guilty.”

Really? Because Ezra Levant and the like do not extend that to Omar Khadr.

What Ezra Levant and the like won’t tell you.

“Given that the Supreme Court found clear charter breaches, Mr. Khadr almost certainly would have been successful at trial. The real question is, how much would he be awarded? Calculating damages is not an exact science, especially when it comes to charter breaches.

The most recent guidance is found in the Ivan Henry case. In 2016, after having been successful in the Supreme Court in 2015, he was awarded $8 million at trial. He was wrongfully convicted and imprisoned for almost 27 years. Most of the award was to vindicate Mr. Henry’s breached charter rights, and to deter similar breaches of charter rights.

Similarly, David Milgaard was paid $10 million in 1999 for over 22 years imprisonment. Steven Truscott received $6.5 million for 10 years in jail and living with the stigma of being a convicted murderer for almost 50 years.

The payments for wrongful convictions likely serve as the upper limit for charter breaches. For government, a certain practicality comes in: what’s the price of not having this dragged out for another 10 years and having a possible further loss at the Supreme Court of Canada? That’s where the $10.5 million figure comes from."

http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/omar-khadr-legal-analysis-aaron-wherry-1.4199409

Khadr asked for $20 million. Canadian government had already spent $5 million in legal fees. They decided to settle for $10 million.

If you don’t want money to be spent to compensate violation of charter rights, tell Conservative politicians to get educated on charter rights.

“An Ontario Superior Court judge has turned down a request for a freeze order on Omar Khadr’s $10.5-million settlement.

Lawyers for the widow of a U.S. soldier killed in Afghanistan, and another injured U.S. soldier, were in court seeking a freeze order pending the final outcome of their bid to get an Ontario court to force Mr. Khadr to hand over his settlement to them.

We don’t, thank goodness, in Canada have one law for Omar Khadr and one law for all other Canadians," Justice Belobaba told the courtroom in announcing his decision.

“saddling us with carbon taxes”

BC has had a carbon tax since 2008. B.C.‘s GDP has slightly outperformed the rest of Canada’s since 2008.

“The result is that taxpayers are coming out ahead. B.C. now has the lowest personal income tax rate in Canada (with additional cuts benefiting low-income and rural residents) and one of the lowest corporate rates in North America. You shouldn’t need an economist and a mining entrepreneur to tell you that’s good for business and jobs.

At the same time, it’s been extraordinarily effective in tackling the root cause of carbon pollution: the burning of fossil fuels. Since the tax came in, fuel use in B.C. has dropped by 16 per cent; in the rest of Canada, it’s risen by 3 per cent (counting all fuels covered by the tax). To put that accomplishment in perspective, Canada’s Kyoto target was a 6-per-cent reduction in 20 years. And the evidence points to the carbon tax as the major driver of these B.C. gains."

“The idea is that for those who lack a cognitive ability to grasp complexities of our world, strict-right wing ideologies may be more appealing.”

…so, just to be clear. She is fired for a. disobeying a directive from the boss, but finally b. not clearing the action of allowing an interview to be aired without editorial input. Seems like a reasonable and necessary executive action as, in the current media environment, this could be perverted into some kind of consent of the interviewers known attitudes on race. We can assume by omission that her actual comments were irrelevant. All very reasonable, understandable and form a political perspective necessary. I viewed her vid of her Charlottesville experience and comments and they were very well put forward and clearly a courageous truthful assessment from her viewpoint. A good example of reporting and free speech. I hope she resurfaces soon as she is obviously intelligent, talented and courageous. As long as she is gone due to a disregard for the necessary chain of communication and authority this will be a good lesson for her. This is obviously a very tough choice for the boss and I’m sure he’s grieving. A temporary loss for us all. Too bad.
