Why you MUST re-watch “Animal House,” the “movie about everything”

Gavin McInnesArchive

"Animal House" isn't just a funny sex comedy from the 1970s about the early 1960s. It's a perfectly sculpted time capsule that not only shows us how much we've lost our way but also lays out how to make us great again.

Secondary education went from those who questioned and challenged authority, to “safe” spaces and trigger warnings. Pathetic…

This is why I love Gavin Mcinnes. He is an artist at heart. He can convince me to consider the value of Animal House, which I have never seen but will now watch.

Animal house was about how non conformity and independent thinking are paramont to a free society – it is important to instill a natural distrust/loathing of abusive authority and manipulative pop culture memes and do what is best for you – it’s about how it is always better to swim out of the mainstream and follow the school to avoid being swept into the rapids – most of all it’s about individualism, a concept lost in the collectivist narratives of post constitutional America.

It’s about how even social outcasts (individualism) can change corrupting influences – the movie theme has a lot in common with Revenge of the Nerds – same social outcast idividualism meets elitist pop culture and authority.

As for the other comedy Doug Kenny wrote has a similar theme about individualists and social outcasts against the establishment – total opposite to Millennial chic which celebrates their conformity and comfort with overbearing authority. Sad really.

Side note: Doug Kenny ( Animal house screen writer) was a founder of the classic National Lampoon humor Magazine and Nat Lamp radio hour, Animal house was taken from a 4 part strory published in National Lampoon about a charcter named “Pinto” and the Alpha Delta Phi alumnus – National Lampoon was a golden era of sophomoric satire with the greatest humorists America has produced since Twain – but we will never their like see again because of the tyranny of PC which the animal house guys fought against.

‘Animal House’, The best goddamn comedy ever came out of politically correct Hollywood.
And yes you are right Gavin every dialogue of this movie contained some message in it; the message of Liberty, the message of rebellion against tyranny.

Hilarious! I’ll have to watch it now, so I better understand the true meaning of Life, The Universe, and Everything! I always thought I had the answer, but now I may be wrong, the answer may not be….42!
