Malak Al Shehri, the rebellious Muslim woman who received death threats for sharing a photo of herself going out without a hijab has been arrested.
According to The Daily Mail, Arabic-language al-Sharq newspaper said the woman was detained after a complaint was filed by the religious police.

“Police officers have detained a girl who had removed her abaya on al-Tahliya street, implementing a challenge she announced on social media several days ago,” Colonel Fawaz al-Maiman, a Riyadh police spokesman said.
The woman's behavior had resulted in other Saudis calling for her to be executed. One wrote on social media, “The least punishment for her is beheading her” while another said “Kill her and throw her body to the dogs.”

All women in Saudi Arabia are required by law to wear a traditional full-body covering. Muslim women must also wear a hijab, but foreigners don't need to.
