UPDATE: Wynne’s Liberals' “green religion” drives MORE companies out of Ontario

Brian LilleyRebel Co-Founder

More businesses are looking at moving or expanding stateside rather than in Ontario and Wynne’s Liberals seem to think there’s nothing to worry about. Remember that mischievous kid from Mad Magazine, Alfred E. Neuman? Well, that’s Wynne and her assorted unworried cabinet ministers.

You already know companies are leaving Ontario due to high power prices and the new cap and trade system. Recently, an Ottawa greenhouse operation revealed cap and trade is now costing him over $6K on his energy bills.

At about $74K per year, that’s a really good salary for one or two workers at lower wages, and that’s the increase from cap and trade alone, money that Bob Mitchell from SunTech could be using to hire people instead of sending it to Wynne and company.

He gets nothing extra for that money, just less cash to keep his business running.

Watch as I share parts of a piece from The Financial Post highlighting more problems like this in the Toronto area including a specialty paint shop operating there since the 1950s that may be expanding into the U.S. instead of in Ontario.

There are others looking to the US, everything from plastics makers to food production companies. They just can’t make ends meet with out of control bills, and businesses won’t be getting that 25 percent cut that takes effect on July 1.

The piece asks Minister in charge, Brad Duguid, for comment. He seems oblivious but then, Liberals love creating jobs as long as it’s not dirty manufacturing.

Not everyone is going to be a computer engineer or programmer and they won’t all work in clean tech. A report from three years ago by the Liberal leaning Mowat Centre found that Ontario had lost 300K manufacturing jobs over a decade with the city of Toronto alone losing 20 percent of its manufacturing jobs.

This isn't good and cries out for a change in disastrous government policies driving companies away but the Liberals are tone deaf. The fact is, Wynne and the Liberals are driving Ontario’s economy into the ground with their green energy plans, their cap and trade system, their endless regulations for starting and operating a business in this province.

They know there’s a problem but they have no plan, and perhaps more importantly, no desire to fix it because of their green religion. They’d rather everyone be unemployed as long as they feel good about what they are doing for greenhouse gases.

I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again, it is time to fire Wynne!

Why is Quebec hydro electric dam more green than Niagara Falls? It isn’t but they make it sound like it is more. The green energy act has to be canceled. The Liberals have to be canceled. And Butt head can go with them.Thank the brain dead GTA for voting Liberal.I hope they are gridlocked more, they desrve it.

The Burger King commercials featuring that horrible "King’ character looking in people’s windows was enough to scare customers away from their product. It is the same with the PC Party in Ontario. They choose horrible candidates and run horrible elections. It’s like the Liberals have infiltrated the PC executive in order to sabotage every election. How else can you explain it?
Ontario is such a horrible financial basket case that there doesn’t seem to be a way out now. Cutting taxes is probably impossible due to debt servicing. Expanding the tax base is impossible because new businesses haven’t a chance of surviving. And austerity just doesn’t sell to a populace that is addicted to welfare.
Is your election platform going to be cutting teachers and OPP and Fire Departments? That’s what needs to be done. And we haven’t even talked about the corruption that has taken place in Ontario under Liberal rule.
The only way out of this dilemma is on a personal basis. Pack up and leave. Tax dollars are leaving California, Illinois and other States where fiscal insanity by Democrats have made it impossible for families to live sensibly. Same here in Ontario. Liberalism and socialism destroy economies. Destroy jobs (except government moocher jobs like teachers).

Winbag, Duguid, Delanney, all brain deadbeats living in LALALAND & sitting on a cloud playing with unicorns. Will Ontario voters ever learn anything from these disastrous Liberals who have turned their once rich & productive province into a have not province.
Art, the only Ontarians who can purchase those high priced tickets must be working for the gov’t, I’m sure.

With all of these screwed up leaders who have been elected to govern our country or a province sure doesn’t speak well about the voters’ intelligence.

One of the causes of Ontario’s green disaster plan was Gerald Butts. He was the advisor to Dalton McGuinty whose was probably the stupidest Premier in the history of Ontario. Sadly , Wynne is either as stupid or simply deceitful. Today Butts is Prime Minister Poutine’s Chief Advisor who was an old college roommate of his while the PM was working towards a degree in Drama. There is a field of study called Environmental Science and many of those graduates worked for the oil company where I was employed . Does Butts have any environmental science education ? Of course not ! Like all enviro twats that are self proclaimed experts he has an education in nothing close to science. He has a degree in English Literature but apparently to the Ontario Liberals that was enough to pilot the province’s green circus.
He is now advising the clueless leader of this country about carbon tax’s and all that stuff.
God helps us all !

Brad Duguid’s comment on the loss of Manufacturing jobs is contemptuous.
Good bye middle class, farewell summer jobs for students, good luck finding your first job, R&D follows Manufacturing. China surpassed Japan in patent applications in 2011 and is about to surpass the US. Duguid is an idiot, sorry no nice way to say it.
It is great that we have a healthy Tech Industry today but High-Tech jobs move easily and have short half-life; anyone remember RIM or Nortel?

Since i’ve been reading about manufacturing fleeing Ontario for a good decade, can someone from Ontario please explain to me just what in the hell you all do out there to afford Blue Jays and Leaf tickets? (Other than sleeping at your desk at Queens Park, that is.)

What’s weird is, you’d think a politician would want all the jobs we can get, regardless what they are. Every person working is additional tax dollars, less welfare etc. But, as Brian points out, this is a religious belief system for them. It reminds me back in the 80’s, they got rid of shop class in high school, ‘cause "those trades won’t be needed in the future". Riiiight – and how did that work out? And did they learn from their mistakes not to pick n choose or try to predict the future? LOL!!! Of course not – Lefty’s are psychotic. They’re “incapable of learning”

Bad news for Wynne. The polls have turned against her in Liberal Fortress Toronto. Apparently the Gritss are behind the Tories in Etobicoke and North York. The two parties are tied in Scarberia. I’m not sure whether Brown would do much better, but without Toronto the Liberals are toast.

Ontario has been bleeding 3000 high paid industrial jobs a month for the past 15 years. Industrial employment orgs. estimate over 350000 skilled industrial jobs and billions in revenue have left the province as a direct result of Liberal party bumbling in policy and increased tax/energy costs.

For all intent and purpose Ontario is a frigging rust belt with abandoned plants and resource sector operations – the LPO legacy is energy poverty and wage poverty.

This is the globalist goal, to destroy jobs. They are intentionally attacking farmer’s because they want to control the food chain.
commented 2017-03-17 16:25:46 -0400
You should see what it is doing to farmers.

Your food is going to go up in price and there are over 20 farms in my area that went on the market within the past month.

Also coming to an Alberta power bill near you.

Sad news … Wynne will probably be voted back into office yet again this next Ontario election unless Patrick Brown is replaced with a real Conservative.
