“The Jean Chretien route”: Wynne vows to reform political fundraising, but will Ontario taxpayers end up financing parties?

Brian LilleyArchive

Ontario Liberal Premier Wynne's announcement that she's bringing in "sweeping changes" to the way political parties are funded.

Even the Toronto Star has criticized the provincial Liberals for telling Cabinet ministers they have to meet fundraising massive quotas. That's just one of the suspicious looking Liberal practices that made it appear that they were selling access.

One aspect of Wynne's proposed reforms have me worried, though. I'll read it to you -- do you share my concerns?

Hint: It might remind you of Jean Chretien's old tricks...

Said Phil E:- "Never since Nazi Germany has a press corps (sic “core”) been so dishonest and a propaganda spewing accomplice to the presiding government of the day…" Sadly for Canada in 2016, and just months after the butt-kissing Trudeau federal election, still too true… While in the USA the upcoming election provides dissenting voices via various news outlets and social media, Canada is at a choke point for hearing anything critical of probably the lowest I.Q. Prime Minister “some of us” ever elected… In the face of one silly policy decision after another, Canadian media – the CBC being the prime example – refuse to acknowledge their “rush to judgement”… The alternatives to this butt-kissing are few and far between… Thank God for The Rebel….

Contribution limits are set every five years. The current limits apply from January 1, 2014 to December 31, 2018. If you are eligible to contribute, you can contribute:

$9,975 to a central party in any year
an additional $9,975 to a central party for each campaign period
up to $6,650 annually to constituency associations of any one party, but no more than $1,330 annually to a single constituency association
up to $6,650 to candidates of any one party during a campaign period, with a limit of no more than $1,330 to a single candidate
It’s interesting that all the fundraisers are under this limit. Where is the transparency? How does a huge corporation in the pocket of the Wynne government spread these donations around so as not to come under scrutiny by Elections Ontario? And are these participants reimbursed for said contributions? Everyone says Conservatives are more in the pocket of big business. I call BULLSHIT!!

Again I post that more and more the mainstream media is not allowing readers comments on anything Trudeau does or Wynne does. The more the media control the message the less chance that the general public will become aware of the treachery of these politicians.

Now Trudeau is allowing greater EI benefits for some regions and not others. Read the list. The increased EI benefits are definitely based on a reward system for voting Liberal with a few token other areas thrown in to muddy the waters.

Mcallum is now pledging more assistance to bring even more Syrian into Canada as well as promising the United Nations that Canada will spend billions more to assist resettlement of Syrians in other nations.

The comment boards have been completely eliminated in most cases and heavily edited in favour of the Liberals in other cases.

To complain about individual Liberal policies on alternative websites isn’t helping anything. The media has been in bed with the Liberals since the last election and they getting further in by the day. The average Canadian is totally unaware of the disastrous moves being made by the Liberals. In fact, I have spoken to many of my well educated , supposedly knowledgeable friends, and they too are so busy trying to make a living that they are unaware of what’s happening. When I talk to them about current affairs they spout the mainstream media version of events. When I mention some of the other issues facing the nation they are completely oblivious to what’s happening.

Never since Nazi Germany has a press core been so dishonest and a propaganda spewing accomplice to the presiding government of the day. The Liberals continue to use this situation to promote themselves and their agenda. It’s embarrassing to be a Canadian during these times as the United Nations runs Canada and the rest of the world laughs at our prime minister.

The Liberals have discovered that to control the message is to control the nation.

Given that Wynnie is on the take big time, I would say this is a test, to break the way for further theft by Junior, the traitor to Canada.

Not being an Ontarian, I can not really comment about the story per se.

An observation though. Any reform to party funding will be a likely reform to benefit the Liberal party.

Second observation. This ‘reform’ is conveniently a year ahead of Junior’s planned electoral reform announcement, again a reform to benefit the Liberal party.

Is Wynne flying an initial trial balloon for Junior?

Peter Netterville – Wynnie has been playing the criminal game a long time. She studied under that traitor McGuilty, and he was a master liar and manipulator. I see he’s at Harvard now, where all the socialist lemmings are being bred. I can’t believe that he can even show his face anymore in ON, without getting it ripped off. Wynnie’s chain of criminality runs wide and deep. She thinks she is above the law, and has surrounded herself with those who are just like her. As long as she keeps paying the piper, things will appear to be going her way. I find her shameless and I hope that she gets what she has coming to her in the end. I believe that she will, it’s just a matter of time.

Deborah, she certainly does need to go to jail for the crimes she has committed. I have always wondered how so many politicians, mostly on the left, can get away with the crimes they do. It’s extremely frustrating!

Peter Netterville – I agree, she would like the access part and would likely continue to expand her plan of perversion for children, while incarcerated. But the main thing is, that Wynnie wouldn’t have access to the ON credit card anymore. Her wings would be clipped – finally!

Pure and simple… I will believe Winnie The Poo the same day as the Maple Leafs win the Stanley Cup…

If you feel the need to shut Wynne up, just give her a Cucumber. Lubricated of course

“Even the Toronto Star has criticized the provincial Liberals for telling Cabinet ministers they have to meet fundraising massive quotas.”

That is amazing!! The Star, since I can remember has always appeared to be an advocate for Wynne, praising her, her party and so on. What gives? Did Wynne tromp on someone’s toes at the Star so this is payback?

I wish Wynne would dress in a niqab so we didn’t have to look at her sinister grin as she royally screws us.

Deborah, I am not sure if women’s prison is like men’s prison, but if it is she might just like it there.
commented 2016-03-29 18:51:15 -0400
She’s certainly a piece of work! I just hope when justice is meted out, that Wynnie enjoys the balance of her days in her orange jumpsuit, a long with all of her criminal pals, who’ve destroyed ON.
