In Warsaw, I heard about a church sermon taking place where young Polish patriots would be honouring their war dead. Young lads, some serving in the military, turned up as part of a local military re-enactment group.
I met two members who told me why they love Poland, why they honour their war dead, and what they think of young British people who call themselves communists.
They found it amazing that young people could be so positive about communism – but I guess young people in Britain have never seen the effects that communism can have on a country. Polish people see it on their streets every day – from the scars of war to the tower blocks built during Soviet rule.
I’m really proud of this series of films we’ve produced in Poland, and I hope you find them interesting.
