I was going through the Federal government website of returned access to information requests and, to be honest, I learned actually nothing new.
But I did have my bias confirmed when I saw that Environment Minister Catherine McKenna likes to fly by the seat of her bike when it comes to important things like economics and climate change policy.
Remember when the Liberals acted like common internet trolls by using a motion to support the implementation of the Paris Agreement as a stick in the eye to President Donald Trump for removing the United States from the global wealth transfer scheme? Me too. It was gross.
Now one might think the Liberals might have some evidence to back up their support of the Paris Agreement. One might think the Liberals had even been doing the work of researching their evidence-based argument in support of the agreement in the days and weeks leading up to their motion.
Except no. The Liberals didn’t. Look at this. This is right from that same government website I suffered through:
Request Number: A-2016-02115
Organization: Environment and Climate Change Canada
Disposition: No records exist
Number of Pages: 0
Request Summary: "Reports of expected global temperature reduction due to adherence to the Paris Agreement.”
Wait a minute. If the Paris Agreement were about saving us from a boiling planet, you'd think the liberals might have some reports touting the benefits of the Paris Agreement in preventing that - especially in the days leading up to their little virtue signaling motion.
You know what kind of documents Environment and Climate Change Canada did have? 16 pages of records related to the importation of elephants in Canada for the Royal Canadian Circus
